  • Brie Akins (asst. director, SATF) is looking for ppl interested in being on NOMAS 2009

  • Ethan is going to get some workshop materials from Eden/Aimee/WRC for interruptions workshops?
    i.e., capstone class interruptions script(s) (theatre of the oppressed), etc

  1. PROPOSALS

  • Marie: CT Butler Consensus training

    • $800 without speakers board

    • $300 with

    • FFT Cafe, November 22-23, and the time frame
      will probably be 9a-5p but CT is probably flexible

    • How many people can attend?

    • Waiting for follow up with Marie

  • Ethan: gender mentors project discussion
    interest? go ahead? further goal/task development
    PSU resources for primary prevention??  Psych/Counseling programs, professors, grad students, past projects, etc

  • legislative advocates against violence project
    develop a statewide network of trained volunteer legislative advocates who can help craft and deliver effective and targeted mainstream messages of support for initiatives and concepts. be able to call on “male ally voices” to overcome institutionalized sexism and reframe issues when appropriate.

    • No decisions made yet. Further discussion needed, especially between coordinators

    • A long term goal that will have some bite sized objectives to lay foundation

  1. DISCUSSION

  • Boys Advocacy and Mentoring. BAM:  questions, concerns, points of contact: Howard Hiton speaking engagements, publications for philosophy and approach to working with boys

    • AARC did not attend

    • Funding deadline was too close

    • Questions about whether BAM is approaching prevention in accordance with AARC mission and constitution
